Freedom isn't found in staying still, but in moving forward
"Art is not a vague production, transitory and isolated, but a power which must be directed to the improvement and refinement of the human soul."
KANDINSKY
Hi, My name is Sylvie BADRE and I am a mixed media artist.
I didn’t always call myself an artist, even though I’ve been drawing since childhood. “Drawing is not a job.” That’s what my family used to say. So, I studied finance and built a 20-year career in a fast-paced world. Deep down, I knew I didn’t belong there—I was different. But my work gave me something invaluable: the ability to navigate change, to guide others through transitions, and to find strength in transformation.
Neurological challenges have been a part of my life since I was young, but in recent years, they became a real obstacle. Sensitivity to light, noise, and screens, along with chronic pain, forced me to step back. During that time, creating art with my daughter, Lily, became my refuge. That’s the story behind my name Lily-inspirations. It’s not about hiding; it’s a tribute to the light she brought me in the darkest times.
When pain lingers for too long, it wears you down. You feel disconnected from yourself, from the world. You look in the mirror and don’t recognize who you are anymore.
The hardest part isn’t the first step. The hardest part is consistency. This means that power is only in your head.
That’s when I realized that our greatest power lies in our ability to learn and evolve. Those who resist change fade, while those who embrace it thrive.
I want you to feel that power. I want my art to ignite something in you, a movement, a shift, a reminder that change is life itself. It’s within you, waiting to unfold.
Change is breathing
Change is freedom

My process
Influenced by Urban Art and dance, which for me both symbolize freedom, I paint with dynamic gestures, guided by music. Each canvas is a meeting point between control and letting go, where water and inks blend unpredictably. I allow the elements to "dance" together, creating vibrant works full of surprises, where "accidents" become central elements of the creation.
My artistic journey is also a spiritual quest. I use recycled materials—old books, music scores, fabrics—to give them a second life, symbolizing transformation and determination. Each piece tells a story, the story of your energy and the hidden potential within each of us.
“The value of things is given by the environment. We have the power to shape that environment and reveal the true value of things.”
“My mission is to show what is invisible. Energy and strength are within each of us, but society and life force us to conform, and not to be ourselves.”
